on the way to climate neutrality.
Our planet is in mortal danger! If we humans continue as before, the 1.5-degree limit could be exceeded as early as 2030 - ten years earlier than still predicted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2018. Man-made climate change is caused primarily by the burning of fossil fuels and the transportation of goods. We therefore believe that companies need to rethink and take responsibility. We don't want to wait until it's too late to act. Moreover, for us, a balanced relationship between give and take is the basis for an ethical life. So why should we take more away from our wonderful nature than we can give back?
how we achieved this goal?
As in all areas of life, it is easiest to realize your goals if you have someone to support you. In terms of our climate mission, ClimatePartner is that support for us! We sat down with ClimatePartner and together we calculated the CO2 emissions for our office, transportation & our products- This is how we created our carbon footprint. A super interesting experience for us and a complete success! Although we have produced as environmentally friendly as possible from the beginning - with the help of ClimatePartner we have managed to almost completely offset our CO2 emissions! So we can guarantee you climate neutral products - from production to delivery to your doorstep.
our projects.
We have chosen climate protection projects that are primarily dedicated to forest protection and the conservation of peatlands. Forests and peatlands are the basis for a functioning ecosystem! They contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially in the areas of climate protection and environmental education. With our support, forests are reforested, existing stands are protected and important habitats are preserved. Our focus is currently on regional climate protection initiatives in particular, in order to promote our local forests and peatlands as well.
peatlands for climate protection
Peatlands store enormous amounts of CO2 and are thus an important habitat for many endangered plants and animals. Peat cutting in the 19th century damaged much of this habitat. Especially the high moor Schwarzes Bruch is affected by the destruction. Therefore we support the Bergwaldprojekt e.V. in the rewetting and renaturation of the moors Eselsbett, Schwarzes Bruch and Sauberbachtal Bühlheim.
red alder and marsh meadows for coasts and climate
The Floodplains & Seas in the Flora-Fauna-Habitat Area "Bogs and Forests of the Rostock Heath" need our help! Here, the Bergwaldprojekt e.V. promotes species worthy of protection such as the red alder and rare orchids and preserves threatened moor areas, which are an important basis for climate protection due to the storage of CO2 and methane and the regulation of the water balance. The foliage of the red alder is also the food base for aquatic organisms.
help for amazon inhabitants
The ecosystem "Várzea" in Pará at the Brazilian Amazon estuary is something very special! The more than 86,000 hectares of forest provide habitat for countless species. The area therefore needs exceptional protection, which we can provide through the Ecomapuá project. Ecomapua prohibits commercial logging in the entire area! In addition, alternative sources of income are created for the small farmers - for example, through trade with the açaí fruit.
